Zambezi United FC was born from a simple belief: every talented young person deserves an opportunity, regardless of where they come from. We are more than a football club — we are a family committed to discipline, opportunity, and excellence.
Our journey began with a grassroots initiative sponsored by Martin Mhlanga. The Hwange West Unity Cup was created to identify and nurture football talent from underprivileged and rural communities.
What started as a community tournament quickly became a platform of hope, revealing exceptional young players who otherwise may never have been seen.
Inspired by their raw talent and determination, the vision for a permanent club was born.

A grassroots tournament sponsored by Martin Mhlanga uncovers exceptional young players from underprivileged and rural communities — and plants the seed for a permanent club.
On a Wednesday afternoon in January 2026, Martin met with Brad at the Victoria Falls Chicken Inn to share his dream. Right there, the club was formed. Moving quickly, the duo built a committee of five Victoria Falls locals and set out to plan regional trials.
Rigorous trials were conducted across neighbouring villages and communities. From this deep talent pool, an initial squad of 25 players was selected. A dedicated head coach was appointed, with two additional coaches later completing the technical team.
With a complete squad and management team in place, Zambezi United FC officially took its first step into competitive soccer — registered in Division 2 of the Zimbabwe Football Federation, the official entry level for all teams aiming for the top.
The hard work culminated on 4 April 2026 at the Falls Club, hosting Zambezi United FC's historic first-ever official game of the season. In thrilling fashion, the team secured a spectacular home win — starting our league journey on the perfect footing and setting the tone for the future.
Born from the Unity Cup, the club exists to find and nurture players from underprivileged and rural communities who may otherwise never be seen.
